I know this may be crazy, but I actually feel a little cheated by the lack of snow we got yesterday. The weather people had been ominously forecasting severe weather: “8-12 inches accumulation of snow” and “heavy snowfall up to 2 inches per hour” which caused a bit of snow hysteria- people were all canceling school, wearing heavy snowboots all day, stockpiling food supplies… What we actually got was some light rain, a few snowflakes, and maybe an inch accumulation overnight. It seems like the Massachusetts weather people have been a bit bored so far in 2010; it’s been spectactularly snow-free, unlike our less fortunate southern neighbors who’ve had the largest snowfall in history (that’s you, D.C.). So as soon as it looked like a storm was coming in, they jumped on the bandwagon thinking, “holy crap, this is our chance to show the country that WE are still the kings of horrendous winter weather!!” Maybe not this year… I can’t believe I was actually looking forward to the snowfall.. what happened to the Californian in me?!
